The article details the first week of life of a set of twins. Apparently each were in their respective incubators and one was not expected to live. A hospital nurse fought against the hospital rules and placed the babies in one incubator. When they were placed together, the healthier of the two, threw an arm over her sister in an endearing embrace. The smaller baby’s heart stabilized and temperature rose to normal.
AMAZING! but not at all surprised.

I have experienced this first hand. I had preemie twins Jan of this year. My daughter weighed 1 lb 12 oz and my son 2 lbs 1/2 oz. My little girl was born nor breathing, had a very hard start. I did kangaroo care everyday with my son, my daughter was so sick there were times I could not even touch her. The first time I was able to kangaroo them together, my son placed his arm around his baby sister. My heart sank. Of course, I took a photo. The next time, he held her hand. Kangaroo care is amazing. I have seen the affects on my own children. There is no denying the positives it brings to their tiny little lives. They are both home now and thriving. I still hold them together and he still loves to hold her. He will always be her strength I am sure!

Amazing and hard to believe but I believe it
ReplyDeleteMy twin grandchildren responded the same way. We have an sonogram with them touching in the womb, forehead to forehead. When they were born, the boy was the weaker of the two. As long as they were keep together, he would thrive. He would rest his forehead on his sister's forehead and smile. we have the most precious picture of this while in the incubator.
