Uptown and Back In Time

On Saturday, Jen tipped me off about the Medieval Festival happening at Fort Tryon Park, so on Sunday the boys and I hopped on the A train and booked it up to 190th Street for some kitschy fun. It was a beautiful day -- the first of the season that had a real brisk Autumn-y edge to the abundant sunshine -- and we had such a great time with our friends, despite the rather exhaustingly huge throngs of brocade-bedecked people. Yet another reason to love this city!

I also discovered the best way to halt a toddler meltdown in its tracks is to suddenly yell, "ohmygoodness, there's a unicorn!" and have there actually be one standing three feet away. Yup, that'll do the trick.

  2. Your toddler tantrum trick made me smile. It might work even sans unicorn. ;)
