I ran down to the Garment District today to pick up a few odds and ends relating to Halloween prep, and while I was there I decided to swing by one of my favorite stores in NYC, Kinokuniya Bookstore. I could have stayed for hours thumbing through the rare titles, ogling the amazing Japanese trinkets and gifts, and munching yummy pastries in their cafe. Alas, I only had time to snap a few pics with my cellphone and be on my way. Costumes don't make themselves!
awe the word "kawaii" brought back so many memories!! I was really into anime growing up and learned a lot of japanese words thru it. I remember loving the word kawaii and chibi :) Kawaii meaning cute and chibi meaning small. I had a pet rat named chibi at one point HAH!
