Excellent book choices! I love all of them - especially playful parenting. I just finished reading Momma Zen by Karen Maezen Miller. She has a new one out, hand wash cold, that I haven't read yet, but I hope to read soon.
I have the Dr. Sears book, which I bought because you turned me onto him! And I've heard about Raising Our Children, Raising Ourselves...it has been on my list for ages.
Those first two look fabulous. I have the Dr. Sears vaccine book, which I love for its info. I don't have much use for it anymore, given the fact that both my boys have had moderate allergic reactions to vaccines. I've been reading a lot of fiction lately. Just read Push by Sapphire (the book the movie Precious is based on.) I also just got done with The Teenage Liberation Handbook by Grace Llewellyn, which is all about unschooling teenagers. We've already started homeschooling our 3 1/2 year old and I figure it's never too early to start thinking about the future. :)
Just finished reading bedtiming - and it is by far the BEST book on baby/toddler/sleep that I have read...and I have read them all. It's a nice non-baby book about grown-up mother-daughter relationships.
The Vaccine Book is excellent. I'd love to hear your thoughts about it as you read through. We're still undecided about vaccinations (thus far, we've opted for some, but not all of the vaccines recommended by AAP).
I just got The Parents Concise Guide to Vaccinations by Lauren Feeder. So far the best one I've read on the topic, but am going tp look into the one you mention. Thank you xxx
great blog you have! That playful parenting book looks really good. I love the book "How to talk so kids will listen & and listen so kids will talk" by Faber and Mazlish. It teaches you about respectful and effective ways of communicating with your kids rather than the 'because I said so' way of running a family. Would recommend it to anyone!
Not a parenting book per say, but I just started The Philosophical Baby by Alison Gopnik and it's fascinating. It explores what babies understand and how they learn.
would you recommend these parenting books? i am ashamed to say that i've been a mama for 1 year now and haven't read any. i'm just starting to encounter the ignoring of "no" and i am really desperate to work through it in a positive way. if you have any suggestions i would *love* to hear them!

I'm a play therapist so I love the first one. Are you familiar with Dr. Becky Bailey? I love her book "I love you rituals".
