Weekendy Links

I'm spending a lot of time here, looking for last-minute baby-name inspiration.

Looks like the baby will be a Virgo. Maybe I should buy this groovy vintage zodiac poster. Via Mondmelodie.

Should I succumb to my desire to paint a wall the Kitchen with blackboard paint? Here's some of my inspiration.

I'm loving these 10 Breastfeeding Slogans.

Now that I have a sewing machine, I feel like tackling this beautiful ring-sling DIY.

Shhhh, don't tell, but the Kiddo might have this to look forward to as a gift from his new sibling.

Read this awesome essay on the importance of play, and why babies are smarter than you think.

Chic, breastfeeding-friendly fashion + 70%-off sale = MUST HAVE. Thanks for the tip, Katie!

And one last thing: I just wanted to express my gratitude for all the love and support that my readers have bestowed upon me throughout this pregnancy. I cannot tell you how much each and every comment means to me, and I'm sorry that I am not always able to respond to each one individually. Just know that I thank you from the bottom of my heart for hanging around on this little corner of cyberspace and helping to make it a warm, fun, and friendly place. I'm signing off for the weekend now, but if I don't have the baby in the next couple of days, I'll see you back here with some Monday Blog Love. XOXO. Leigh

  3. Wow! You're entertaining us right down to the wire. You're amazing!!!

    Love:

    * the breast-feeding slogans! I think my fave is,"If breastfeeding in public disturbs you, please feel free to put a blanket over your head."

    * the NY Times article. Really excellent.

    * the fabulous & exciting present to the Kiddo from his new sibling
    (shhhhh)!!

    * oh, and the chalkboard paint. What a great idea!

And I love you!!! I am sitting by my phones, ringers on high, heart beating at anticipatory speed!

Have a wonderful, calm, peaceful, joy-filled, loving weekend.

  6. Here's a name for you that you probably won't come across but is popular with my friends -- Avelina. It's basically 'little bird'. My husband and I would love to name a little girl that but there are way too many Avelina's in our family to keep it straight. In fact we call his little sister 'Ave' to make it easier on us.

  7. It is so great to share in the excitement! I was looking at my calendar last night, wondering when the newest Kiddo will make his/her arrival. Will you change the name of the blog, Kiddos (plural)? Probably not, with your blog following, that would be too difficult to change, hunh? I am writing as if I am talking to you on the phone, sorry, lol! Well, I love the essay. And HELLO? Nursing cape dress for $51!?!?!? You'd better be getting that, you would rock it, I am sure! Chalkboard looks fun! Can't wait to see the sling (I may even have some material for your sewing projects). Love the slogans. And I love that the Kiddo is going to get a present from his sibling, what a great way to celebrate their bond and the Kiddo's older sibling status. I love it. I love you! Can't wait to meet the newest addition (we'll be in NY as of end of next month)!

    Love,
    Steph
P.S. - Name inspiration - Stephanie is a good name. It works for both girl and boy - a very secure boy...ahem...okay, it works for a girl. Which is what you are having, I am putting it out there! Can you tell I am supposed to be packing?!

  8. After looking at that sweet baby's face I simply melted into a pile of mush and could read no further. Oh the cuteness! I hope you are doing well Leigh and I'm sure the three of you are anxiously awaiting the arrival of your precious new little. Good luck with everything. My most sincere best wishes to you and your sweet family!
