Because now, not only am I a
breastfeeding,
babywearing,
home-birthing,
co-sleeping,
farmer's-market-going,
resident of the Upper West Side...
I just bought a pair of Birkenstocks.*
*In my own defense, let me clarify that this purchase was hastened by the fact that I can no longer bend over to buckle my super-cute Steve Madden gladiator sandals. So there. Also, not having owned a pair of Birkenstocks since approximately 1994, I had forgotten how insanely comfortable they are. These are fresh out of the box and they feel like heaven for my feet.

but, they are black and patent leather, which is so new york. they look really comfy.
ReplyDeleteNot to mention WAY cute. I love these!
ReplyDeleteregards,
west coast cliche
hilarious! i love it.
ReplyDeletejessie
I love these.
ReplyDeleteI have these too, but I think you will get kicked out of Colorado for not owning a pair.
I knew it was just a matter of time.
ReplyDeleteyou know (and don't laugh) but i think these are kind chic ;-) i'm digging that patent leather!
ReplyDeleteHilarious.
ReplyDeleteThey're actually really cute. You almost converted me...almost :D
ReplyDeleteLove the shoes, i'm too scared to get some in case i never put on heels again! (this happened for a while after i got uggs)
ReplyDeleteWhen you say you co-sleep, does this mean that kiddo sleeps in the bed with you? I only ask because my 5 year old sleeps in with us and the comments i get from just about everyone is horrible. I have started lying to people and saying she sleeps in her own room now. I always feel mean that we both work during the day then at bedtime we get to sleep together and L is sopposed to be in her own room in the dark by herself. I cant bear for her to be alone so i always let her in our bed. The way people react about this is beyong wierd.
Love em! And they are really quite stylin for Birks!! I know they feel really really good!!!
ReplyDeleteEvery woman should have a nice pair of birkenstocks.... well, I am from the west coast and most people do wear them out here.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I just moved to New York City (living in Astoria and walking more than I ever have in my little life!) and I've been up and down on the great debate (re: Birks: Yay or Nay?) since June. Your post might have given me the final push!
ReplyDeleteI adore your blog (as well as your snazzy Birks!)
Cheers.
You also have to try Fitflops. I just got a pair this summer and I never take them off.
ReplyDeleteHell we also co-sleep and my son is 8. We love it!
So comfy and stylish. And the blend of colors is perfect too!!!
