This piece from the ongoing New York Times series One in 8 Million really took my breath away when I read it today. Click here to listen to the amazing and moving story and see the beautiful accompanying photos by Todd Heisler.
We know several families who have decided to complete their families via adoption, and it has really inspired us to consider doing that one day, too. Love the photos and I really love her tattoo.
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful adoption story. As an adoptive mom I love the stories that make adoption "normal". There is no drama. No she's different than we are. There is love and the normal family things. I, too, have adopted transracially and forget that my girls don't look like me. They just fit in and are our family. I encourage everyone to consider adoption if that is where your heart leads. Everyone is blessed in the equation.
