...is to learn how to sew in 2009.
What is yours?
Where will you be tonight, ringing in the New Year?
The Kiddo, T and I will be home, together, listening to the radio while we count our blessings and remember an amazing year.
I wish you much love, fun, and happiness, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a friend of Marvelous Kiddo in 2008!

Here in New Zealand, it will be the New Year in a little less than 3 hours. We're at home enjoying "The Sound of Music." Goofy, I know.
ReplyDeleteI, too, want to pick sewing (back) up. I'm asking for a sewing machine for my birthday.
A very Happy New Year to you and your family!
ow fun. i have a sewing machine.. ive made a mei tai and few other things.. its fun. but i sadly dont have time for it right now w/ photography.. but maybe again soon!
ReplyDeleteid love to just get organized in 09 :-)
no resolutions, because its way too much pressure for the control freak inside me. but a list of what I'd like to do is what I write. knitting will probably make the list as well as a 5K
ReplyDeletetonight, we are staying in and dog sitting for my parents (b/c they have more of a social life :) ).
Happy New Year!
Right now, I'm just hoping to get my heat back on that went off in the middle of the nite!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good one...gosh I have many :)...
ReplyDeleteTonight we're staying in with our babe with a good dinner and a movie!
Happy New Year!
Beautiful photo - and fabulous resolution. I want to learn how to sew as well, though I imagine it will involve a lot of swearing under my breath.
ReplyDeleteThat Mr. T. thing you sent me is BRILLIANT. I love it - you are the best. xoxo, P.
well, you know what my plans are :-)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the sewing. Can't wait to see what you come up with. Happy New Year!!
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely photo & great resolution! we too, will be at home this evening. since hubby is home for the next couple of days...perhaps some good, healthy home cooked meal to eat & to freeze.
ReplyDeletemy resolution: like most, to be more healthy. walk, eat more fruits & veggies. recycle, recycle, recycle = a huge goal. and to start a compost pile. boring, i know, but i think it will be fun to do with my almost 3year old.
what a great goal! if you need access to a sewing machine, you are more than welcome to come use mine!!!
ReplyDeletemy resolutions for this year include finishing the duvet cover that i started piecing together last summer, learning more about canning, particularly jam and pickle making, teaching myself how to quilt, and becoming a more confident knitter. also i would like to figure out how to successfully compost indoors without smellifying the apartment...we'll see!
happy happy new year to you and T and the kiddo! here's to a wondrous, peaceful, and healthy 2009!
I am SO glad I'm not alone in my sewing illiteracy! Great resolution; you'll sure create art.
ReplyDeleteMy goal is to become a certfied yoga instructor, and to run a 10k. . I also want to run a 10k.
ReplyDeleteMy most important goal is to make this year a great one with my baby and husband.
happy new year!
ReplyDeleteI'm spending the evening looking over travel dvd's, lying low as your sister hosts a New Year's Eve get-together for friends and waiting for dad to come home from a New Year's Eve caricature gig.
ReplyDeleteAunt Ruth's 1940's sewing machine is in need of a loving home if you're interested.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Stay warm!
Nice resolution, I used to be obsessed with learning to use a sewing machine as a child - for years, actually, I am now remembering. Never really did learn, though. My resolution is to stay positive and not freak out and worry so much. We'll see how that goes with a newborn! My love to you and T and The Kiddo and the whole family! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI have a vintage sewing machine you are more than welcome to ...though it would need some work to bring it up to snuff! My 2009 intention is to spend more time with people I love, do less rushing around, and create more spaciousness for beauty, laughter, and looking at the moon ...
ReplyDeleteMYOOON!!
oh and ... HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great resolution! I wish I had learned to sew from my mom when I was growing up. I don't make resolutions, but I do try to have several specific goals for the year. But I haven't been able to come up with a good one for '09!
ReplyDeleteA great resolution. My grandma taught me to sew when I was in grammar school and it is a great skill to have, even if all you do is mend hems and sew nice straight things like shower curtains, duvet covers and curtains (my repertoire these days)! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this creative photo. What a cute concept. I hope you learn. I have 3 kids so when I can sneal away after bed time I can listen to my ipod or just let it be quiet. It's extremely relaxing. I guess I don't know all of the rules but it's fun.
ReplyDeleteSincerely,
Angela Harris
A fabulous resolution and one that will be so fun to make happen! Can't wait to see your creations...
ReplyDeleteThank you Leigh for a wonderful 2008 full of reflections and inspiration. Here's to 2009 and all the shining potential it holds!
i love that you listened to the radio. happy new year to you and your lovely family! xo joanna
