I was skeptical about Beyonce being able to pull of the role (and songs) of Etta James, but let me tell you, she was amazing. I have a whole new respect for her as a powerhouse actor. Her performance was intense, gritty, and downright phenomenal.

Date Night Movie
Last night our friend Kristine came over to hang with the Kiddo and T and I went out to see Cadillac Records. It was really entertaining and full of juicy performances. The cast is to die for. It includes Jeffrey Wright as Muddy Waters, Beyonce Knowles as Etta James, Adrien Brody as Leonard Chess, Columbus Short as Little Walter, and Mos Def in a scene-stealing turn as Chuck Berry.
